The OfficeStatus Server installer will launch a prerequisite check that ensures installation of the required Web Server role (with .NET Framework support).

 

If you prefer to perform this step in advance, please use the information below to do so.

 

Configuring Windows Server 2012

 

Windows Server 2012 environments should have the ASP.NET role (and any dependencies) installed.

 

1.When you first login to a new Windows Server 2012 machine, the Server Manager UI will display. Click Add roles and features.

2.On the first screen of Add Roles and Features Wizard, click Next. This displays a page where you select the desired installation type. Choose Role-based or Feature-based Installation, then click Next.

3.The next screen of the wizard asks you to choose the server that you are configuring. Select the appropriate server and click Next.

4.On the next wizard step you will be asked to select one or more server roles. Scroll down in the Roles list, and make sure to check the Web Server (IIS) checkbox. Expand the Web Server node, then expand Common HTTP Features and check all of its children. Click Next.

5.The next screen asks you to select features. Make sure that .NET Framework 4.5 Features is checked. Also, expand the .NET Framework 4.5 Features node and check all of its children. Click Next.

6.The next page of the wizard is informational. Click Next.

7.Scroll down in the Role services list until the Application Development node is showing. Expand the node so that is children are showing.

8.Check the ASP.NET 4.5 checkbox below the Application Development node. The wizard will automatically select a number of other, related features.

9.Click Next, then click Install.

 

Configuring Windows Server 2016+

 

Windows Server 2016 (and later) environments should have the ASP.NET role (and any dependencies) installed.

 

1.When you first login to a new Windows Server 2016 machine, the Server Manager UI will display. Click Add roles and features.

2.On the first screen of Add Roles and Features Wizard, click Next. This displays a page where you select the desired installation type. Choose Role-based or Feature-based Installation, then click Next.

3.The next screen of the wizard asks you to choose the server that you are configuring. Select the appropriate server and click Next.

4.On the next wizard step you will be asked to select one or more server roles. Scroll down in the Roles list, and make sure to check the Web Server (IIS) checkbox. Expand the Web Server node, then expand Common HTTP Features and check all of its children. Click Next.

5.The next screen asks you to select features. Make sure that .NET Framework 4.6 Features is checked. Also, expand the .NET Framework 4.5 Features node and check all of its children. Click Next.

6.The next page of the wizard is informational. Click Next.

7.Scroll down in the Role services list until the Application Development node is showing. Expand the node so that is children are showing.

8.Check the ASP.NET 4.6 checkbox below the Application Development node. The wizard will automatically select a number of other, related features.

9.Click Next, then click Install.
